Children and their favourite cuddly toys

Last week, we told you why having a cuddly toy is good for a child’s development. Today, we are sharing some stories from Little Dutch fans about their child’s favourite cuddly toys.

From the moment Aron was born, he shared his bed with a cuddly toy. But he was not interested in the toy at all. He had found his thumb and threw away all the cuddly toys his parents kept offering him. Aron’s aunt and uncle had been on a world trip for the first 18 months of his life. When they returned, they had brought Aron a gift: this monkey from Indonesia. This was love at first sight. Everywhere Aron goes, Monkey has to go, too. To him (and his mommy and daddy) it is a very valuable cuddly toy! It is not an option to lose it, because it is impossible to buy a replacement!

Mitch can’t go without his two ‘cuddles’: a very sort cuddle cloth and a matching bunny. His parents had bought the cuddle duo even before he was born. Now, the 2-year old Mitch is cuddling the toys day in day out and brings them with him everywhere. His mother used to be very attached to her ‘cuddle’ as well and even spent some nights in adulthood with it. It runs in the family! 

Olivier’s mother used to travel a lot for work. On her first trip after his birth, she bought this penguin in London. Penguin would be able to be there with him even when mommy was not. They have been inseparable ever since. Together with Penguin, Olivier has been on many adventures. Like a visit to the zoo, sleepovers, and even his first day at school. Penguin sleeps in his bed, sits at the table, is being dragged along by his wing or plays to be an acrobat. Luckily, so far, it has come out of the washing machine unharmed!
